What to eat when visiting Bali? Balinese food is some of the best food I’ve eaten when travelling and Bali is one of the only places that I ate all local food for my whole trip. That’s right – no caving in and having a Mc-Donalds! This is certainly one place that I would advise trying as much of the local cuisine as possible. Here are some of my top tips for dishes to try:
1. Nasi Campur – A Balinese tapas dish featuring rice and a variety of tasty morsels, both vegetarian and meat. This is a great first dish to try when you get to Bali as it’ll introduce you to a range of tastes. The exact recipe will vary depending on the restaurant, but may include satay, tempe, corn, spiced vegetables, curry, pickles, chilli sauce, soya beans, salad….
